What the AI SEO course market looks like when you read every public course page. Every number below is computed from our dataset, and every percentage shows its denominator.
- 31 of 39 programs (79%) teach earning citations or mentions in AI answers.
- 22 of 38 (58%) name GEO and 17 of 39 (44%) name AEO.
- 24 of 35 (69%) teach AI visibility tracking.
- 18 of 41 are free. The median membership costs $149 a month (6 programs, $27 to $299) and the median one-time course costs $349.50 (10 programs, $19.99 to $997).

1. The work is more common than the labels
79% of programs with a clear answer teach AI citation work, while 58% use the GEO label and 44% use AEO. In other words, more courses teach the underlying job than carry either acronym. Buyers who filter by acronym will miss good courses.
2. Measurement is widely claimed
24 of 35 programs say they teach measuring AI visibility. In practice many of these lessons use the provider's own software, since several of the free courses come from tool vendors.
3. Classic SEO has not gone away
27 of 33 programs with a clear answer still teach conventional SEO. That matches Google's guidance that AI features rely on the same indexing and snippet eligibility as normal search.
4. The market is split by format
By format the 41 programs break down as 29 self-paced, 7 membership, 3 live cohort, 2 guide. Free content is concentrated in self-paced academy courses, and the highest prices sit in memberships and cohorts.
